The birth of the flashlight

Modern civilization should indeed thank the American inventor Thomas Edison, who made the first white lamp with commercial value and brought light to mankind. However, Conrad Hubert deserves the same respect. He invented the flashlight when he immigrated to the United States from Russia 100 years ago.

Hubert came home from get off work, and a friend proudly showed him a shining flower pot. It turned out that he installed a battery and a small light bulb in the flowerpot. As soon as the switch was opened, the light bulb illuminated the flowers, which looked dazzling. Hubert was fascinated by it, and this incident gave him inspiration. He sometimes walked in the dark at night, and it was very inconvenient to go high and low. Not long ago, he had to carry a heavy oil lamp to the dark basement to find something. He thought, wouldn’t it be practical and convenient if you could use electric lights to illuminate your body? So Hubert put the battery and light bulb in a tube, and as a result, the first mobile lighting flashlight came out.
